Behind the Lens
In an industry that has become dominated by overly polished digital imagery, I utilize the time-honoured medium of film to capture the unguarded, imperfect friction between a garment and the person wearing it. I find it a beautiful and rewarding challenge to bring out and include a small part of the authentic and unique person that each model is into whatever project we find ourselves jointly a part of.
I am a film photographer working primarily in fashion and editorial. My practice is rooted in the belief that clothing becomes most compelling when it reveals something true about the person wearing it. Every project is an opportunity to create images that feel honest, emotionally resonant, and lasting. Fashion is a very personal thing for each individual, and I think the images we use to showcase garments, persuade viewers, and sell garments should have an undercurrent of the personal.
Working with film encourages a slower, more intentional process. It asks for presence—from me and from the people I photograph. I value collaboration, taking the time to build trust and genuine connection so that each image reflects more than a pose. I'm drawn to moments where vulnerability and confidence exist together, where fashion becomes a vehicle for storytelling rather than just an advertisement.
The themes that continue to shape my work are resilience, solitude, rebellion, and authenticity. I'm interested in the quiet strength people carry, the tension between expected norms and freedom in individuality, and the beauty found in imperfection. Whether photographing an editorial, a designer's collection, or a portrait, I strive to create images with emotional depth and a sense of truth.
The result is imagery that I hope feels timeless, engaging, and human.
